FACILITIES

Our organization has continued to expand each successive year and currently has over 40,000 square feet of facility space. We are centrally located in Maryland’s biotechnology corridor within minutes of I-270 and government institutions such as the National Institutes of Health (NIH), the Federal Drug Administration (FDA) and the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA).

We have made significant investments over the years in highly-trained staff, facilities, and instrumentation to increase our capabilities and capacity to produce rapid and reliable quality data for the biopharmaceutical, medical device, chemical, and consumer product industries.

BIOCON’s primary facility is designed to house specific pathogen free small animals in a temperature and humidity controlled environment up to Biosafety Level II. Our secondary facility is located within ten minutes of the primary facility, and is designed to house animals with known endemic pathogens. Special-purpose and custom-designed laboratories and resource rooms are available at both facilities. Computerized security systems maintain the integrity of facilities and staff.
